The Mindly Group

Life can be challenging, and I believe each person experiences the world through their own unique perspective. Because no two people are exactly alike, I don’t believe there is a single approach to counseling that works for everyone. Sometimes we need a space where we can simply feel seen, heard, and accepted. At other times, we may need practical strategies, new perspectives, and encouragement to try something different. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you can explore what’s getting in the way, recognize your strengths, and develop strategies that work for you. Together, we can navigate life’s challenges and work toward greater confidence, well-being, and a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling.

I bring more than 20 years of experience as a gymnastics coach, where I have seen firsthand how anxiety, pressure, and mental blocks can affect an athlete’s confidence and performance. My experience as both a coach and a parent has also given me insight into the challenges adolescents and young adults may face, including academic and social pressures, body image concerns, anxiety, and the process of developing their sense of identity.
These experiences have shaped my clinical interest in working with teens, and young adults as they navigate emotional, social, and developmental challenges. I have a particular interest in working with competitive athletes experiencing performance anxiety and mental blocks, as well as adolescents and young adults experiencing generalized anxiety and depression.
As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA), I practice under clinical supervision as required by the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors. My clinical supervisor is Shannon Staiger, LCMHCS, who can be reached at 919-630-5668. As part of the supervision process, I periodically participate in case consultation for training and professional development purposes.
