June is National Pride Month and a time to celebrate love for all. Did you know that National Pride Month is celebrated in honor of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising which ignited the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. Pride Month is a time for celebrating diversity, promoting acceptance, and advocating for LGBTQ+ rights worldwide. Events range from parades and festivals to educational workshops and community gatherings, all aimed at fostering a more inclusive society. Don’t know where to go, keep reading for more information.
How to show your support during National Pride Month
- Participating in a pride parade – Raleigh’s Out! Raleigh Pride is a free event for everyone and will be held June 22nd 2024 on Fayetteville Street Mall in Raleigh from 11am-7pm. Come out to shine or show your support.
- Pride parties Pride Party at Dram & Draught in Durham June 29, 2024 10pm – 1:00am. Have some fun celebrating diversity.
- Pride workshops – NAMI offers a free virtual suppport group the 1st & 3rd Tuesday evening from 6:00-7:30pm.
- Pride concerts – Triangle Pride Band Summer Symphonic June 22nd 2024 7:00pm at Martin Marietta Center Raleigh NC
- Pride events in your community – Never Late to Drag Brunch Pride Edition at Tin Roof 11:30am-2:00pm. Come and enjoy some food and fun.
